Asmed Nojib

Yousoof Asmed Nojib

Practice Principal

Asmed qualified in 1998 and has been Practice Principal since 2001. He also holds an adult postgraduate qualification in teaching from UCLAN and has been involved in postgraduate dental professional training since 2003.

He is an experienced sedation operator, having completed Advanced Intravenous Sedation training. He has also been trained in the delivery of anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers, as well as orthodontic systems including Clearstep, QuickStraight Teeth and Invisalign. He is currently undertaking advanced facial aesthetic training, including non-surgical rhinoplasty, tear troughs and cheek enhancements.

To make use of his practical and anatomical skills, Asmed is developing his knowledge in other areas, such as the usage of plasma devices for skin tightening and PRP hair rejuvenation.

When not hard at work, Asmed enjoys cycling, travel and film. He also likes tinkering with cars and digging out his pans for cooking his favourite dishes. He is married to Nasreen and has two children.

Lee Nightingale

Principal Dentist


Lee qualified from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne University in 1998. He is our resident expert in all aspects of Dental Implantology, having completed the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons Implant training program. He is especially interested in the implant rehabilitation of denture wearers.

Outside work, he enjoys spending time in the hills and mountains, especially skiing in the winter. He is also a keen cyclist who enjoys fixing bikes just as much as riding them.

Julia Kerr

Julia Kerr

Julia qualified from The Royal London Hospital, with a distinction, in 1992. In her final year, she won the Young Dentist Oral Medicine Award and was sponsored by Kavo to carry out research into composite filling materials, in Singapore. After completing her vocational training year in Chelmsford, she moved back to the North East, where she worked in Low Fell, before moving to Chester Road.

Twenty three years have passed since Julia joined Chester Road and, during this time, she has continued her professional development, through a combination of practical courses and lectures. As well as knowing how to care for teeth, she is trained to carry out facial aesthetics, including Botox and Dermal Fillers. She has also had orthodontic training in the Quick Straight Teeth system.

In 2014, Julia was delighted to be voted Sunderland Dentist of the Year by Sunderland Royal Hospital and the Sunderland Echo.

Julia is keen to put anxious people at ease and believes she has a good rapport with her patients, especially after being at the practice for so long! She especially enjoys cosmetic dentistry and tooth straightening, as they can improve appearance and confidence.

Outside work, Julia loves spending time with her husband and two young children, and, when time allows, she enjoys running and playing golf.

Ros Farrell

Ros Farrell

BDS (Newcastle), BSc (Hons) Pharmacology (Dundee)

Ros qualified from Newcastle in 1999 and completed her vocational training in Norton, Stockton-on-Tees.

She has been a General Dental Practitioner for 17 years and part of the team at Chester Road for 15 of those.

She keeps her skills up to date by attending lectures and courses, and has recently qualified in Quick Straight Teeth.

Ros has a keen interest in the treatment of gum disease and particularly enjoys treating children. When looking after younger patients, she is keen to promote positive dental experiences which they can carry into adulthood. She has an easy-going and calm nature, which helps to relax nervous patients.

Outside work, Ros is married with three boys, and a dog called Ted. She also volunteers with the Scout Association and runs a local cub pack.

Her favourite place is the Lake District and her ambition is to have a wood fired pizza oven in her garden.

Jennifer Milburn

Jennifer Milburn

Jennifer has worked at Chester Road Dental Practice since qualifying from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2009.

She particularly enjoys working with more nervous patients and helping them feel more comfortable about receiving dental care. One of the most rewarding aspects of Jennifer’s job, is putting very nervous patients at ease and helping them through the treatment process.

In her spare time, Jennifer regularly runs and swims. She ran her first Great North Run in 2016 and is in training for the Liverpool Half Marathon next year. She also enjoys hiking, especially in the Lake District and North Wales, and is currently learning how to crochet.

Robyn Dickinson

Robyn Dickinson

Robyn graduated from Newcastle Dental School in 2014 and then carried out two years’ further training in a hospital setting, before settling in general practice.

Robyn works between the Princess Road and Chester Road dental practices, and loves the variety provided by the two surgeries and all the different patients. Robyn sees her work as a continuous learning process and really enjoys developing her people skills, and meeting new people. Robyn is qualified to provide tooth straightening treatments, including ‘Invisalign’ and ‘Quick Straight Teeth’.

When not caring for her patients, Robyn loves keeping active and spending time with her family. She would also really like to get a dog.


Elin Brooks

BDS Newcastle 2019

Elin graduated from Newcastle University in 2019, and completed her foundation dental training year here at Verne Road. She then continued her employment with us as a Dental Associate in 2020.

Elin particularly enjoys offering a variety of treatments and meeting all her patients.
