Meet the team

Yousoof Asmed Nojib

Practice Principal

BDS

Asmed qualified in 1998 and has been Practice Principal since 2001. He also holds an adult postgraduate qualification in teaching from UCLAN and has been involved in postgraduate dental professional training since 2003.

He is an experienced sedation operator, having completed Advanced Intravenous Sedation training. He has also been trained in the delivery of anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers, as well as orthodontic systems including Clearstep, QuickStraight Teeth and Invisalign. He is currently undertaking advanced facial aesthetic training, including non-surgical rhinoplasty, tear troughs and cheek enhancements.

To make use of his practical and anatomical skills, Asmed is developing his knowledge in other areas, such as the usage of plasma devices for skin tightening and PRP hair rejuvenation.

When not hard at work, Asmed enjoys cycling, travel and film. He also likes tinkering with cars and digging out his pans for cooking his favourite dishes. He is married to Nasreen and has two children.

Lee Nightingale

Principal Dentist

BDS

Lee qualified from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne University in 1998. He is our resident expert in all aspects of Dental Implantology, having completed the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons Implant training program. He is especially interested in the implant rehabilitation of denture wearers.

Outside work, he enjoys spending time in the hills and mountains, especially skiing in the winter. He is also a keen cyclist who enjoys fixing bikes just as much as riding them.

Dominic Smith

GDC No. 211637

BDS

Dominic qualified from Sheffield University in 2011. He worked in practice in Derby in 2011, in Low Fell in 2012 and he has been at Princess Road since 2013.

He enjoys working with nervous patients, helping them to feel more comfortable while they are sitting in the dentist’s chair. He also likes showing patients their improved smiles following treatment and seeing how they can enhance confidence. In addition, he enjoys being able to talk to a wide variety of people every day and building better relationships with his patients.

He completed a Quick Straight Teeth (QST) course in 2014 and is interested in expanding his knowledge about ‘Invisalign’ clear aligners so he can offer further options to his patients.

Outside of dentistry, he is an avid football fan and has a season ticket for Sunderland AFC. He also plays football weekly and, if time allows, he enjoys a game of golf.

Katherine Rose

GDC No. 210848

BDS, MFDS

Katherine graduated from Cardiff University in 2011, and, in 2013, she passed her examinations to become a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, attaining the MFDS RCPS (Glasg) qualification.

Katherine has a particular interest in treating nervous patients and young children. She wants everyone to have relaxed and positive experience.

She also has an interest in facial aesthetics and has completed additional training in delivering botulinum toxin A as a youth boosting anti-wrinkle treatment.

Outside work, Katherine is a keen runner. She also loves cooking and has a passion for travelling.

harry mckenzie

Harry McKenzie

BDS (Hons)

Dental Training: Graduated from the University of Sheffield, gaining a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree with honours.

Work History: Dental Foundation Training completed general dental practice in Blyth, Northumberland.

Special Interests: I have a keen interest in restoring function and aesthetics of patients’ smiles with the use of modern restorative materials.

What do I enjoy about the job:
I particularly enjoy the variety that this job has to offer, having the opportunity to engage with many different individuals of all ages, on a
daily basis.

I find it particularly rewarding to be able to put anxious patients at ease and also relive patients of pain.

Interests: Outside of dentistry, I enjoy keeping active; whether this be playing 5 a side football or tennis. More recently, I have also been spending my free time pursuing a newly developed interest in photography.

Robyn Dickinson

GDC No. 251864

BDS, MFDS

Robyn graduated from Newcastle Dental School in 2014 and then carried out two years’ further training in a hospital setting, before settling in general practice.

Robyn works between the Princess Road and Chester Road dental practices, and loves the variety provided by the two surgeries and all the different patients. Robyn sees her work as a continuous learning process and really enjoys developing her people skills, and meeting new people. Robyn is qualified to provide tooth straightening treatments, including ‘Invisalign’ and ‘Quick Straight Teeth’.

When not caring for her patients, Robyn loves keeping active and spending time with her family. She would also really like to get a dog.

Dimitra Markopoulou

GDC No. 262712

DipDS

Dimitra graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, in 2015. She also qualified as a Dental Technician in 2010 and has gained substantial experience working in a laboratory and as a dental practitioner.

When not hard at working looking after teeth, Dimitra loves the varied pursuits of horse riding, photography, travelling and reading.
